CP26-19-000 Columbia Gas Transmission, LLC ("Columbia") has submitted an application to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission ("FERC") under Docket No. CP26-19-000, for approval to construct and operate the NKY Gate Enhancement Project ("Project") located in northern Kentucky and southern Ohio. About Columbia Gas Transmission: Columbia is a limited liability company organized and existing under the laws of the State of Delaware with its principal place of business located at 700 Louisiana Street, Suite 1300, Houston, Texas 77002-2700. Columbia is indirectly owned by TransCanada PipeLine USA Ltd and Global Infrastructure Partners. Columbia is a "natural gas company" as defined under the Natural Gas Act, engaged primarily in the business of transporting natural gas and operating underground storage fields in interstate commerce under authorizations granted by and subject to the jurisdiction of the Commission. Columbia is authorized to do business in the states of Georgia, Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia. Purpose of the NKY Gate Enhancement Project: Columbia is proposing the NKY Gate Enhancement Project to replace aging pipeline infrastructure originally constructed and installed in the 1950s. The Project is located in Mason, Nicholas, Bracken, Pendleton, and Campbell Counties, Kentucky, and Hamilton County, Ohio, and is designed to enhance the safety, integrity, and reliability of Columbia's existing natural gas transmission system. Columbia has respectfully requested that the Commission issue a certificate order on or before November 1, 2026, to allow sufficient time for permitting, procurement, and construction activities necessary to meet the proposed in-service date of November 1, 2028. Project overview: The Project involves various natural gas pipeline replacements, pipeline abandonments, and installation of new natural gas pipelines in addition to the installation of new points of delivery and modifications to existing points of delivery. Once completed, the project will enhance the safety, integrity, and reliability of Columbia's existing natural gas transmission system, to facilitate the growing demand for natural gas in the northern Kentucky and southern Ohio regions.
