Become a Shining Star in Mason County Homemakers DOURRA www..com The Mason County Homemakers had 56,825 volunteer hours of service. The Mason County Homemakers presented a donation to Mason County Fiscal Court & the City of Maysville for $1,629,150 dollars. Friendship Homemakers Washington Homemakers Friendship Homemakers Club meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 10:00am at the Extension Office. The club is involved in several projects throughout the year including the Homemaker Yard Sales benefitting ovarian cancer research, the annual Homemaker Scholarship Bazaar, the Ag Literacy Program sponsored by 4-H and Horticulture Programs, and a community Christmas project. Members enjoy a variety of activities such as baking, quilting, reading, crafting and volunteering. This year, the club was able to donate a full scholarship to the homemaker scholarship fund, as well as contribute to the 4-H scholarship fund. New friends are always welcome to join us! Sardis Homemakers The Washington Homemakers meet on the first Tuesday of every month at 10 AM at the Mason County Extension office. Some of our many service projects include sending snacks to the fire and police departments, hospice of hope, and the nursing home. Also, we delivered valentines to the Maysville nursing home. We delivered clothing to the Mason County Resource Center. We sent money for a goat to Kenya and donated food to the local food bank. May's Lick Night Owls Homemakers The Sardis Homemakers is a small rural club focused on supporting our community. We do this by contributing to all Mason County Homemaker initiatives and donating time and financial support to groups such as local fire departments, senior citizens, nursing homes, etc. We also work with other extension agents when projects require additional assistance. We meet on the second Wednesday of each month at a location to be determined at the previous monthly meeting. Guests and new members are always welcome! We are so excited to get this year underway. May's Lick Homemakers Meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 6 PM at the Extension office. Community Service projects we've been involved in: Annual nursing home visit with bingo, annual stop for the Limestone cycle tour, and Planting flowers in the Maysville Park, as well as multiple extension volunteer activities. Fernleaf Homemakers The Fernleaf Homemakers are a community service group who do many activities to give back to their community. We work with Cancer Fighters United, have a annex to our group at Kenton Point Assisted Living, a 4-H cooking club and all our members volunteer for many other community groups. We raise money each year to give scholarships to young people who want to continue their education. We are a fun-loving and very friendly group meeting on the second Wednesday of each month at 11 AM.
